The Story behind the "The Wiki Blitz"
I had the privilege of working with Ruben Wiki for 3 years during my time as Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at the Canberra Raiders. What a fantastic athlete, human being and professional he is. His commitment to preparation is second to none, ensuring he is at his inspirational best at all times.
When we talked together about developing a short duration gym based fitness routine in early 2003, we discussed how he wanted me to create a routine that he could perform in the competitive season, late on in the week, prior to games. The "Wiki Blitz" was created and has become legendary within the small elite circles in which it is performed.
It is one of those routines that never becomes easy to get through. The fitter you become the more intense you can work, the more intense you can work, the harder it hits your Anaerobic /Aerobic System. This is why "The Wiki Blitz" should be an essential part of any serious athletes training program.
Over the years "The Wiki Blitz" has played an important part of my fitness program. Its standardized nature enables it to be utilized not only as a program routine, but also as a fitness protocol test. The fact that it is a sub 30min routine, enables it to be utilized within the training program in the off season, as well as the in-season, as its impact on the total training volume of the week is minimal.
"The Wiki Blitz" was created to challenge one of the toughest men in world sport. Can you stand up to the challenge of "The Wiki Blitz".
